The Opportunity:
Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) is building a General Instructional Candidate Pool for current and anticipated openings across our schools. This standing requisition allows us to proactively identify and engage strong educators and instructional support professionals for roles including:
Lower Elementary Teachers (K–2)
Upper Elementary Teachers (3–5)
Middle School Teachers (6–8)
Elective & Specials Teachers
Special Education Teachers
Teaching Assistants
1:1 Paraprofessionals
Reading Interventionists
Candidates in this pool may be considered for immediate openings or future opportunities as needs arise throughout the hiring season.
PLA educators and instructional support staff are mission-driven professionals committed to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of scholars in underserved communities. All roles contribute to building structured, joyful, and high-expectations learning environments.
The Details
Key Deliverables: (Role Dependent)
Responsibilities vary by position and may include:
Delivering or supporting high-quality, standards-aligned instruction
Providing small-group or individualized academic support, particularly in reading
Supporting inclusive classroom environments and differentiated instruction
Monitoring scholar progress and supporting data-driven instructional decisions
Collaborating with teachers, special education teams, and school leadership
Supporting scholar behavior, engagement, and classroom routines
Partnering with families and school staff to support scholar success
Deliverables may vary based on role and campus needs.
Experience and Education Requirements (Role Dependent)
Qualifications vary by role. Candidates may include certified teachers, individuals enrolled in credentialing programs, or experienced instructional support staff.
General requirements may include:
Passion for working with students and families in under-served communities
Bachelor’s degree or higher for teaching and intervention roles, where required
Valid State Teacher License or enrollment in an approved credentialing program (for teaching roles)
Experience supporting instruction, interventions, or classroom management
Ability to use data to support instructional or intervention planning
Strong collaboration and communication skills

The Campus:
Discovery Creative Pathways (DCP) Redford was founded during the 2018-2019 school year in the Redford, MI area. The campus supports K-8 scholars by establishing a close-knit family atmosphere and has become a home away from home for many of its students. DCP Redford focuses on providing a high-quality education that nurtures students' intellectual growth, encourages critical thinking, and promotes a love of learning—offering a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as dance, soccer, Girl Scouts, arts & crafts, sign language, basketball, and tutoring. These activities make our school special by providing opportunities for students to develop their skills, explore new interests, and build social connections. DCP Redford fosters a strong sense of community, where students, teachers, and parents feel engaged, connected, and supported.
Compensation and Benefits:
PLA School Teachers receive a base salary that is competitively aligned with the market. In addition to a base salary, PLA School Teachers receive:
