You’ll be entrusted with shaping the academic and cultural foundation of your campus—coaching teachers in real time, analyzing data to drive results, and ensuring every scholar is seen, supported, and successful.

Key Deliverables: 

• 10% increase in Math proficiency
• 10% increase in ELA proficiency
• 90% Staff Retention
• 95% Average Daily Attendance
• 90% Student Persistence
• 80% or higher stakeholder satisfaction
• Meeting annual enrollment goals

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Current Administrators License
• Proven success as an instructional leader
• Experience in turnaround work 
• Entrepreneurial, positive problem solver with the ability to see opportunity in challenges
• Clear judgment, a mature interpersonal style, and the ability to drive collaborative decision-making processes.

The Campus: Hope Community PCS - Tolson is a public charter school in Washington, D.C. that was founded in 2006 and recently joined the PLA network in 2022. We serve about 250 scholars from PK - 8th grade with a school population that is reflective of the strength and diversity of the community in which we are privileged to serve. We pride ourselves on our STEAM-focused learning that results in scholars taking risks, engaging in learning, and having ownership of their education. Our vision is centered on having a growth mindset to encourage our scholars to develop their immense potential and continue to be active contributors to their communities. We believe that by providing a world-class education in an empowering school environment, all scholars are able to flourish and achieve more than they thought possible.  

Compensation and benefits:

PLA School Leaders receive a base salary that is competitively aligned to the market. In addition to a base salary, PLA School Leaders receive: 

• Competitive Compensation including a salary range from $140,000- $200,000 annually 
• Benefits – Healthcare, vision, and dental insurance
• Monthly professional development opportunities, including participation in our annual Leader Institute
• Opportunities to collaborate and brainstorm with other School Leaders in the network
• Incentive and bonus opportunities
