The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Grants Writer to play a critical role in advancing the mission of Entrepreneurial Ventures in Education (EVE).  This is a full-time remote position that will primarily involve researching, identifying, and writing high-quality proposals to support EVE programs.   
 

Essential Job Tasks: 
This is a full-time, remote Grant Writer role.  The Grant Writer is an EVE employee who will support all programs under EVE’s umbrella.  The Grant Writer will be responsible for writing and applying for grants that align with EVE’s mission and goals through a pipeline of opportunities provided to them. Daily tasks include writing and submitting high-quality grant proposals, conducting necessary research to support applications, grant budget development, and grant narrative writing, and effective communication with internal partners. The role will report directly to the Grants Manager and is responsible for generating $1,000,000 annually and retaining 90% of award revenue year over year.


Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management, Strategy and Planning

  • Lead the development of high-quality, compelling grant applications that clearly articulate the missions, programs, and impact of EVE entities, including Phalen Leadership Academies, Summer Advantage, Skilled US, and Indy Scholars.
  • Conduct rigorous grant research using internal data and external sources to strengthen the competitiveness of proposals.
  • Develop and submit letters of inquiry, reports, and related materials with a focus on clarity, impact, and funder alignment.
  • Synthesize programmatic, financial, and impact data from internal information and partners to craft persuasive narratives, outcomes, and budgets for grant submissions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Philanthropy team and cross-functional partners to manage funding priorities, gather required information, and ensure alignment between organizational strategy and grant proposals.
  • Manage grant pipeline to evaluate and prioritize grant opportunities that align with organizational goals and funding strategies.
  • Track grant activity and outcomes using Salesforce and other systems to support proposal development, reporting, and strategic grant planning.
  • Support the development of funder relationships through strong written communication and proposal strategy, contributing to long-term funding sustainability.
 

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of increasing responsibility in non-profit fundraising
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing educational and economic equity for underserved communities
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and other CRM platforms to support grant tracking and data management
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Extreme tact and discretion, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
