STUDENT ENROLLMENT COORDINATOR
The Opportunity: The Student Enrollment Coordinator role fosters local interest, manages the recruitment and enrollment process, and ensures student and family persistence. Key responsibilities include raising awareness of Phalen Leadership Academies, promoting the campus, securing applicants, and nurturing relationships with families throughout the enrollment pipeline. The Enrollment Coordinator will work strategically to achieve 100% campus enrollment goals by engaging the community and maintaining high levels of communication and support for prospective and current families.'
The Location: Discovery Creative Pathways, Redford
Essential Job Task:
- Develop and maintain relationships with families through campus engagement activities to achieve 90% re-enrollment, including managing the re-registration process.
- Ensure that the campus achieves 100% of budgeted Enrollment on the First Day of School (FDOS).
- Execute a targeted student recruitment strategy that aligns with campus needs, including building relationships with local childcare facilities, local youth organizations, and attending community events that have a significant family presence.
- Works to position our school as the premier charter school in the area.
- Nurtures partnerships throughout the year to ensure ongoing engagement and support.
- Act as a brand ambassador and community expert by mastering the intricacies of the Phalen Leadership Academies model, ensuring all families are well-informed about PLA’s programs.
- Attend all school-related parent events (holiday celebrations, Parents in Touch, Field Day, and more)
- Engage the community through off-site presentations at (e.g,. daycares, housing authorities, community centers, and other local organizations).
- Participate in neighborhood walks and door-to-door outreach in areas near PLA schools.
- Host enrollment events to recruit prospective families and provide information about enrollment
- Facilitate the application process, ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Proactively monitor application quality and promptly resolve any issues, providing support to parents to ensure a smooth and efficient application experience.
- Consistently track and document progress, providing accurate reports that reflect up-to-date daily reporting and ensure timely submission to meet all enrollment goals
- 100% of Enrollment Milestones Completed on time and to goal (Re-Registration, Lottery, Registration, Welcome to PLA, and maintaining and cultivating a solid wait list after lottery by providing communication and sustained recruitment efforts etc.)
- Ensure all new families are effectively onboarded from the time they apply, with ongoing communications and invitations to tours and/or open houses.
- Collaborate with other campus staff on recruitment and engagement events to greet and nurture relationships with new families.
- Assist with exceeding the enrollment goals for Summer Advantage
- Help families enroll in Skilled US (where available)
- Maintain accountability by regularly updating the Principal and Enrollment Department on progress towards goals and any issues that arise.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma required; college preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in admissions, enrollment, sales, or business development.
- Community Knowledge: Intimate knowledge of the campus community and its unique needs.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to connect with parents and families regarding educational issues for their children.
- Flexible Schedule: Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
- Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish speaker strongly preferred, but not required.
- Driver’s License: Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in data entry and computer skills.
- Knowledge of PLA: Familiarity with Phalen Leadership Academies and its mission.
- Event Planning: Experience in planning and executing events.
- Bilingual Abilities: Bilingual skills are preferred to communicate effectively with diverse communities.

The campus supports K-8 scholars by fostering a close-knit family atmosphere and has become a home away from home for many students.
