The Opportunity: PLA  Academic Instructional Coaches (IC) are passionate and devoted leaders who bring creativity and rigor to our classrooms by providing support to our educators. As an instructional coach, you will be responsible for supporting the improvement of classroom instruction across the campus. The IC will work with our educators to provide individual coaching, will support teachers in utilizing data to drive instruction, and is responsible for identifying and coordinating the needed professional development to support the success of our staff.  PLA leaders strongly believe in every scholar’s ability to succeed, and they work tirelessly to create a school experience that fosters success.

The Details: 

Key Deliverables: 

  • 100% of Building Leaders are utilizing and implementing the PLA Coaching Cycle
  • 100% of the projected Math and Reading growth goals are met  from BOY to EOY
  • 100% of PD is driven by the PLA Coaching Cycle analytics
  • 90% Staff Retention
  • 90% weekly usage rate of K-2 Early Literacy Foundational Skills and 3-5 Close Reading for Meaning

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree, preferred
  • Valid State Teacher License
  • High proficiency in grade-level standards, benchmarks, and curriculum
  • Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction
